Hell’s Canyon

Mother Earth was working on a new canyon wall. 

She was thinking about how high and wide 

And how to harness the raging water down below.

She heard a frightened whinny and a yell from a human.

A horse and it’s rider were struggling to cross the water.

Story goes that the man never left his horse 

and the horse never left the man ……..

so they both drowned.

Mother Earth shook her head 

and continued to build her canyon 

higher and higher …..

She never forgot the man nor the horse 

She finished the canyon 

Gave a final look up and down 

Then said to her land

This is HELL’S CANYON

Dedicated to 

……a hell of a man 

…….a hell of a horse 

and a hell of a creator
